I have an exciting announcement: Waste Free World is rebranding as The Eco Desk
I’m super excited to announce that moving forward, Waste Free World will now be known as The Eco Desk.
I had initially settled on the Waste Free World brand after witnessing the extent of the plastic problem on my travels in South East Asia. I took these pictures a few years ago in Thailand, and it remains a sight I cannot un-see. This drove me to action, and the creation of Waste Free World, where my intention was to create a directory of plastic free businesses across the world.
As the site has moved much more in the direction of sustainable fashion and lifestyle, I wanted to create a brand that better expressed what I am looking to achieve here, and resonated more with those I am trying to reach.
My feeling is that The Eco Desk is more aligned with my personal vision and conveys that better to my potential audience. I love the connotations of both the newsroom / magazine writers’ desk, but also a place of reflection and research.
As the project is steadily gaining momentum and popularity, I wanted to make this move sooner rather than later. It takes time to build a trusted brand, so this is an important decision that has not been taken lightly.
